Kidblog.org is designed for elementary and middle school teachers who want to provide each student with their own, unique blog. This looks like a pretty good alternative to Weebly and Wikis.  Creating class accounts is free and there is no advertising of any kind on the site. Teachers can moderate all student activity. However, there is not much information about the people who operate it. Apparently it is made for teachers, by teachers. If you are using Kidblog.org, why not leave a comment to share your experiences with it.

I did a lookup on the domain. It's owned by someone named Matthew Hardy. Googling him doesn't bring up anything that seems to be related, but one result shows he has 15 other domain names registered, don't know what they are, though.

I had a Twitter chat w/a few people on this, and someone pointed out to be cautious when you don't know much about who is behind something like this.

Despite how easy it looks, I think we're doing to stick with Class Blogmeister in my district, for now.

Thanks for that Anne. I agree that some published information about the company operating this would make this a more attractive choice. There is nothing to say they are not legit, but not much to convince you that they are either. Strange.
